We are having problems with the new transmission in the 2004 Jaguar. On occasion it will not shift from 2nd to 3rd properly - can race to 4400 rpm, will jerk into gear and/or will roar the engine. We have not been able to have it fixed, because, again, the Scottsdale dealer says they cannot duplicate the problem.

2000-2002 S-Type transmission is out of the Ford Lincoln LS. The chassis is the Lincoln LS, so the trans fitted perfectly so they used it. It was a problem in that car as well long before they placed it in the new S-Type. Rebuilt trans cost between 1,300-1,600 plus install labor. Jaguar charges 5,000???

2003 Jaguar s type experiencing problems with the emergency brake engaging while driving. When the emergency brake applied, it caused premature wear of the rear brakes and tires.
