The fob I replaced the battery in triggers the message every startup. Old battery was at 2.9V. Replacement 3.26V. Seems like the message is latched. Like I said, seems to work fine. Update: Used the secondary key for a few days and the low battery fault seems to have cleared on its own. All now well.
Q7 MK 1 Discussion - Crank but no start. - Hi Everyone. I have a 2007 Q7 3.0TDI with the BUG engine. I was driving from capetown to jhb when I lost power, as if the turbo stopped boosting, after slowing down, power came back. Around 20kms further, the car cut out and wouldnt start at all.
The battery was dead when I tried starting it, so we charged up the battery, car started fine but the MMI screen will not turn on. We ended up putting a brand new battery in and still the same issue. Everything was a 100% working before we took the oil cooler off to change 2 O-rings.
For the Q7 the procedure is listed below. I'm sure it is different for our C7s but this should point you in the right direction if you ever have to do it after a battery change. Sensor for Steering Angle (G85) Prerequisites: Start the vehicle. Turn the steering wheel one turn to the right and one turn to the left. Audi Model:: Q7. Audi Year: 2014. Posted October 26, 2017. Recently the car has been giving the impression of a flat battery when trying to start. It would turnover a couple of times but very very slowly. Turning the ignition off and then on again and the car would turn over slowly and then speed up and start but this may take a few attempts.

If you have a battery post that looks like this, it may be keeping your Q7 from starting. Start by taking a look at the battery posts. If they are loose or corroded, it acts as a barrier that can keep the starter from getting the voltage it needs to crank the engine.

This is another way to solve the problem of the anti theft system car wont start. Disconnect the positive terminal of the battery for a minute or two. Reconnect it and make sure that both the anode and cathode terminals are tightly attached. It will reset the computer system and your car is likely to kick off.

When towing, you should use Parking lock emergency release, which basically puts the transmission into neutral. Ignore the cryptic line about "driving through mountains/maneuvering".
East Sussex. Nov 15, 2022. #8. I had trouble changing the battery in my key fob. I ended up going to my Audi dealer - with my own battery - and they changed it for free. The important point is to know where to press inside the key fob, and how much pressure to use. There is a video on YouTube: which demonstrates this.
Dim headlights. Dimming headlights are one of the most common signs of a bad alternator in the Audi Q8. Dim headlights indicate that the alternator can’t keep up with the energy request for the lights. As your Q8 begins to eat through the voltage stored in the battery, the headlights will begin to fade.
HTML code is Off. Forum Rules. My battery died and after i replaced it, the MMI wouldnt work right. At first it turned on but no sound played eve with a station selected. Then it would turn off by itself. I tried the restart sequence and i can hear the mmi powering down, then itll come on, and still no sound. after i started the car a second
It happens when one of the components on the circuit is drawing more power than it should. Switch the starter relay with another known good one and try again. If it starts, you’ve found the problem. If not, check the starter fuse, again, swapping it with a good one to see if that’s all that’s wrong.
insert key (that has new battery) turn key to accessory position (don't start the car) now push in unlock button on the key remote. hold button in 10 seconds. let button out. press button in and out 10 times. turn key off and remove it. get out. enjoy your working remote.
I would wait several hours before checking it or try to get rid of the surface charge by turning on the lights on for a few minutes when the engine is off, turn them off, shut the doors for several mins (no load, no lights on, MMI fully shut down) and then check it. Then check it again in the morning before you get in the car.
