It happens when one of the components on the circuit is drawing more power than it should. Switch the starter relay with another known good one and try again. If it starts, you’ve found the problem. If not, check the starter fuse, again, swapping it with a good one to see if that’s all that’s wrong.
insert key (that has new battery) turn key to accessory position (don't start the car) now push in unlock button on the key remote. hold button in 10 seconds. let button out. press button in and out 10 times. turn key off and remove it. get out. enjoy your working remote.I would wait several hours before checking it or try to get rid of the surface charge by turning on the lights on for a few minutes when the engine is off, turn them off, shut the doors for several mins (no load, no lights on, MMI fully shut down) and then check it. Then check it again in the morning before you get in the car.
