If someone explains to me a complex math question step by step, I may be able to understand how they got to that answer. But I probably won’t be able to recreate the theory for another problem unless I understand it fully.
For me it's a fear that the iq score I get online won't be the same with a psychologists or certified tester.
For RAPM should be around 30 give or take. AFAIR 41 correct in FRT equals something like 133 or 135 IQ SD 15. Anything above that is 135+. Doing that test you posted, I didn't know how many stars were on a US flag in 1935, I now know it's 48 but that factoid hasn't made me have a higher IQ. There's also no poison ivy here so again, didn't ever need the knowledge about counting leaves. It's one of the things that IQ test makers have to be considerate of when making these tests.
You don’t take one iq test to get your iq you go see a Psychometrists who is a special branch of Phycology. They administer about 80 to 100 of the tests you did under strict time controls and supervision. At the end you get a report that lands you in a percentage, 1% means you could get into Mensa, 80% means you can’t be enlisted into the army.
Color discrimination, not exactly IQ but seemingly correlates strongly with it: Munsell Hue Test. Mixed or multiple tests: Discoverymyprofile – The Psychometrics Centre. Includes ICAR16, ICAR60 and others. ICAR is a mixed type test, with 4 types of items: spatial rotation, number series, verbal reasoning, and figures.
Its frustrating to think that brain function tops out at some point (assuming iq tests do accurately examine reasoning ability). I scored a 131 on jcti, which is by no means bad, but I cant help but feel disappointed.
Most online IQ tests are useless. American Mensa has a cheap practice test ($10??) that they mail you. The real in-person test is pretty cheap ($40?), but unfortunately you can only take it once in your life. If you need a second IQ test, you will have to pay a psychologist.
Creator of the Danish online test did it on purpose in order to discriminate higher IQs. Anybody who would perform above 120 IQ on that test would be advised to take the real Mensa admission test. Also, people who scored 130+ on proctored test, usually scored lower in Danish test (not always, but many times they reported deflated scores).
An IQ test score is not engineered to be an issue, except when trying to qualify for an organization that puts a premium on your score, such as Mensa. But, as with any timed test, yes, you should skip a hard question you are spending a lot of time on so you can finish the questions you can easily answer, and go back to the harder questions
